Default Question about DrillThrough and Cube Schema Changes

Hi,

I am havily using AS2005 to build Cubes and size is really big( like fact
rows in 800mils and few dimension size is 7 mils rows). I have 2 challenge.

1. Once I change the cube structure, I have to go back and reprocess the
whole cube and it takes longer time. My requriments is this,

if i change the cube( let's say add new dim), but do not want to process the
whole cube, Is there any way just apply the change moving foward and do not
process the whole cube ? .

2. DrillThrough is really pain to get the lowest level data as the field
suppose to be part of the dimension.

I need to use the DrillThrough in Excel 2007. can anyone please share how to
implement DrillThrough in Excel 2007 ? ( it was perfect in AS2000 with Excel
2003)

Thanks in advance!!

Default Re: Question about DrillThrough and Cube Schema Changes

1. adding a dimension or a measure break the cube structure and you must do
a full process.
or you can just "process the structure" (but the cube will be empty) or
process the data only (not the aggregations)
also, just deploy the solution when you have added all the dimensions

2. Excel 2007 support the drillthrough by default, there is nothing to do
(no plugin), double click on a cell and Excel do the drillthrough.
make sure you have created at least 1 drillthrough action in your cube
before.

hope this is useful.
