Install Full version over trial version?

This is a discussion on Install Full version over trial version? within the db2-udb forums in Other Databases category; If I have a working version of DB2 8.2 trial and have received the full version of DB2 8.2, can I install the full version over the trial version or do I have to uninistall the trial version? I am not sure if I have to migrate or simply just install over. Thanks....

Default Install Full version over trial version?

If I have a working version of DB2 8.2 trial and have received the full version of DB2 8.2, can I install the full version over the trial version or do I have to uninistall the trial version? I am not sure if I have to migrate or simply just install over. Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure (I never installed the trial myself), but it might be
sufficient if you just apply the new license file.

Yes, that's right. db2licm is the tool to use (after finding the
license file).

You can install a valid (permanent) license file on an already installed
try-and-buy license. We do that because we don't have any 8.2 media other
than the try-and-by that I downloaded from the IBM website. I could probably
get the 8.2 download from Passport Advantage, but it is not any easy system
to navigate.
