| Hi, I did a fresh install of DB2 8.1 with fixpack 16 on 64 Bit Linux for Intel (DB2/LINUXX8664 8.2.9). Install completed without any errors. Next I created the sample database to test the installation. Everything works fine, except that I cannot perform a backup. Whenever I run something like "db2 backup database sample to /tmp" (Also tried various options here), the backup process hangs. That is, I can see the backup file in /tmp is created and is 8.1 Mb in size. I left the backup running over night and in the morning it still hadn't finished and the size of the backup in /tmp was still 8.1 Mb. Has anyone experienced this before? And more important, does anyone know how to fix this? Many thanks in advance, Louis |

| Hi , I suspect 2 things. 1)check whether involved filesystems are not full(100%). 2)Ensure no other backup process currently running , if any hanged bacukup process you can kill it(but ensure is it safe to kill or not). Thanks Bhaskar Quote:
