Now, the *BIG* question. 

This is an Ingres supported system.  Does Ingres support a customer modifying the
dictfiles?

Years ago, at Telesis, we added an index on object_id to ii_abfdependencies and it helped a fair amount. Edit $II_SYSTEM/ingres/files/dictfiles/ad104min.mfy to add the create index statement, and do another sysmod. (I don't know if the version has moved on, edit whatever ad10?min.mfy files you see.)
