Hallo zusammen,

Vielen Dank schon mal!

It might be possible. I have a palmtop (Zaurus), and desktop. It is
easy enough, so I understand, to configure usb networking to allow them
to talk to each other. Making either one serve as an external hard
drive for the other would be more difficult, but look on the Zaurus
forums for hints.

Another option is unison (I think that is how it is spelled), which
creates an image of one machine on the other. Again, this is standard
fare for paltops/pdas/smartphones.

Couldn't you mount a partition from one machine remotely on the other,
as a network drive?

Of course the easiest method would be to write a backup of one system
onto tarballs, ftp them to the other machine, and deal with all the
files there, if each can get network access.

This is an english speaking group. You should really post in
de.comp.os.linux.misc

Anyhow, I ran your query through babblefish, and this is what it says:

>Hello together, I have two computers (Tower and Notebook), both with SuSE
>10,2, and would like these by a USB cable to connect, in order to exchange
>data. Me it floats forwards that I on each computer that different one quasi

I think you are trying to connect the computers via a USB cable. You cannot
connect two master hosts together with a standard cable. Yoy will need to
obtain a Linux compatible data link cable. (These have integrated electronics
that act as slaves to both master connections.)

Regards,

Mark.
