| We currently have an installed base of Lotus notes 5, and have upgraded the domino server to 7.03. Now, I would like to deploy the Notes 7.03 client. The notes 5 client is installed in c:\lotus\notes, because that was easiest for allowing permissions to the data directory. Now it seems that the Notes 7 client can be configured for multiple users (which is a feature I would like to use). This installs the client's program files in C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes and the data files in the user's profile directory. I have seen suggestions that you can install the client (still for multiple users) in C:\lotus\notes instead of C:\Program Files\lotus\notes. Aside from the fact that it would UPGRADE the existing Notes 5 client, is there any reason WHY I would want to put the client there instead of the Program Files directory? I don't care about the user's existing configuration (and neither do they). It seems to me that the Program Files directory would be the more correct place to put it. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks. |

| hi! Do you know, that you can install user data dir to user's network home path and set notes.ini path after notes.exe like: notes.exe =h:\userdata\notes.ini After all user who logged in, can run notes with own data dir? It's like multiple user but the network login choose user, not ln client. And it's work with notes 5 too.
