Blackberry sync with Lotus Notes address book

One of my users has his Blackberry synchronize it's address book with his
local Notes address book.
I copied some person documents out of the Domino Directory, and pasted them
into his local address book.

These copied and pasted records look fine in his local address book - they
have the email address and other information we need, but when he
synchronizes with his Blackberry, the only data that gets into the
Blackberry is the contact's name. His other contacts, which he entered
manually, are synched to the Blackberry ok.

Any ideas of how to get these records, especially the email addresses, into
the Blackberry address book?
