"Mailto" equivalent in Lotus Notus for new memos?

Default "Mailto" equivalent in Lotus Notus for new memos?

That was the last time I had to use Lotus Notes!

The thing that I've found is that the mailto syntax doesn't work with
Lotus Notes for generating new memos with pre-populated fields. I
never knew but now suspect that it must be a Microsoft thing.

For example, just like a URL, a mailto bit of text such as
mailto:emailaddress-at-domain.com will generated a compose window with
the email address already filled in. There are complexities to mailto
that one can take advantage of if one knows the code. I have many
links such as this that give me messages with pre-defined info already
in them which saves from lugging around templates everywhere.

Was hoping someone could advise me what the equivalent for LN is since
my mailto's this week started a not-as-yet installed MS Outlook which
isn't supported at my current job.

Thanks.

This is caused by an not correct installed Notes client. You have to
install the Notes client as default mail program, then the mailto will
work. At the moment Outlook is the default mail client.
I think you can change that in the Internet settings of Windows.

Oh, phew! I really thought it might be something else. It's an
office installation. Will have to see if there is a setting somewhere
in LotusNotes that allows me to tick it so that LN is the default. I
know where to do that in Outlook, of course, but new again to LN.

Thanks! D
