RUN WINDOWS ON YOUR MAC USING APPLE BOOT CAMP | Apple
Leopard is the world’s most advanced operating system. So advanced, it even
lets you run Windows if there’s a PC application you need to use. Just get a
copy of Windows and start up Boot Camp, now included with Leopard. Setup is
simple and straightforward — just as you’d expect with a Mac. Boot Camp
supports the most popular 32-bit releases of Windows XP and Windows Vista.
When you use either operating system on your Mac, your Windows applications
will run at native speed. Windows applications have full access to multiple
processors and multiple cores, accelerated 3D graphics, and high-speed

SECURING A LOTUS DOMINO WEB SERVER: USING THE NEW INTERNET LOCKOUT
FEATURE | Lotus developerWorks
This article describes Internet lockout, documents its configuration, and
provides a sample that shows you how to create a custom login form. Internet
password lockout lets administrators set a threshold value for Internet
password authentication failures for users of Lotus Domino applications,
including Lotus Domino Web Access. This lockout helps to prevent brute force
and dictionary attacks on user Internet accounts by locking out any user who
fails to log in within a preset number of attempts. Information about
authentication failures and lockouts is maintained in the Internet Lockout
application, where the administrator can clear failures and unlock
user accounts.

| Lotus developerWorks
Follow along with an example that shows you how to build a customized search
center using Lotus Quickr content services. In the example, the Lotus Quickr

which are then used to implement customized functions such as sorting,
categorizing, and filtering.

Seven Client OSes That Could Replace Windows | eWeek

Microsoft's Windows is the undisputed king of the desktop. And for a
long time

desktop. Here are some of the contenders.

Converting gas-powered cars to electric | CNN Tech

Moon mission delayed until 2009 | CNN Tech

NASA has delayed the launch of an unmanned spacecraft to the moon to
scout for
potential landing sites for astronauts. The moon craft is the first step in
NASA's program to send astronauts back to the moon and beyond. The Lunar
Reconnaissance Orbiter was supposed to blast off from Cape Canaveral,
Florida,
in early December aboard an Atlas V rocket. But the launch was pushed back
after NASA agreed to swap with the Air Force, which will fly a prototype
space drone.

Is NASA relying too much on Russia? | CNN Tech

Experts are growing increasingly concerned that the United States will
have to
rely entirely upon Russia to take astronauts to and from the international
space station for at least five years. Observers say the situation is
all the
more worrying as after NASA announced a delay in the launch of its next-
generation Orion spacecraft.

106 mpg 'air car' creates buzz, questions | CNN Tech

You've heard of hybrids, electric cars and vehicles that can run on
vegetable
oil. But of all the contenders in the quest to produce the ultimate fuel-
efficient car, this could be the first one to let you say, "fill it up with
air." That's the idea behind the compressed air car, which backers say could
achieve a fuel economy of 106 miles per gallon.

Ocean 'dead zones' becoming global problem | CNN Tech

Like a chronic disease spreading through the body, "dead zones" with too
little oxygen for life are expanding in the world's oceans. "We have to
realize that hypoxia is not a local problem," said Robert J. Diaz of the
Virginia Institute of Marine Science. "It is a global problem, and it has
severe consequences for ecosystems."

Scientists puzzling over chemical found in Martian soil | CNN Tech

Scientists working with NASA's Phoenix Lander are reasonably sure they have
detected a toxic chemical in the soil near the north pole of Mars. But they
say hearty strains of microbes might be able to live there anyway -- and
even
thrive on it. "This is an important piece of the puzzle as we attempt to
determine whether habitable conditions exist for microbes on Mars," said
Phoenix principal investigator Peter Smith, of the University of Arizona.
"In itself, it is neither good nor bad for life."
