Default Installing Lotus Notes database in 'Clinet Mode' only

Hi all,
Forgive my lack of knowledge of Notes, although I have used the client
as a mail browser I am not too familiar with the ins and outs of the
components it uses so this is where I call on your help...
We have been given by a client a Lotus Notes application database, what
we would like to do is install that so it can run within our
environment in the office, my question is can we do this with just the
client side componenet of Notes or will we have to buy the Notes server
software and install that on a server and then install a client? This
will have great bearing of costs of course
Any help and guidance apperciated, I did some searching but could not
find this specific issue
Thanks
Shaun

You can install the application as 'local' (ie in a share network
drive), but consider the folliwing:
1) you will not be able to run any schedule agents (or mail-in agent),
however, you can run them manually
2) only 1 person can access at a time (I am not sure for multiple
people access), ie if someone opens the database and not closing it,
then noone can open the same database

So, as long as the above 2 is OK, cannot see why.

Hi
1) and 2) will not be needed but can you clarify what would be
installed? Would it be the Notes Client or the Notes server?
Cheers

If 1) and 2) are not needed, then Notes Client install will do the job.
