Default Re: ORA-19507: failed to retrieve sequential file, handle="string", parms="string"

>> ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer
is a generic one and points that the issue is with the MML ( Media Management Layer).
Are you using veritas/netbackup or anything like that?
Please Post exact information.
The usual cause of this error is unavailablity of disk space ( check all the disk space for database and veritas/netbackup server/client logfiles etc )or client time out ( depends on the MML you use).
