| hey all, on universe (10.1) it appears that fixtool locks the file (even if you do not use the -fix option). Is there a way to run fixtool (the help did not show anything) so that it just checks the file without locking it? Or is there another tool that you can use to check a file for errors while users are on the system? thanks, universe 10.1 on aix 5.2 dougc |

You can also backup the file with the UniVerse backup program which will check the file for problems. However, the backup program will lock each group as it backs it up. Kevin Sproule |
