After replacing the disk, wouldn't you want to do a:

#zpool replace c1t6d0, instead of bring it online. (replace with
itself)

this is what I do when I replace faulty drives on our x4500's

the syntax is actually:

#zpool replace atlashome c1t6d0

That did the trick. I don't know how I missed that bit. I read many docs
on docs.sun.com about that but somehow I always missed it.
