| What package(s) do I need to install to get basic X support? I have a system that was installed with cluster SUNWCreq I just want to be able to ssh in with X forwarding and use the X server on my PC. -- * John Oliver http://www.john-oliver.net/ * |

The space for a full install is trivial compared to the effort of finding out which bits'n pieces are required to support X and then installing them. (Where "X" does not necessarily refer to X-windows) |

There's far too much stuff that we don't need, don't want, can't use, and don't want to worry about patching / security issues. -- * John Oliver http://www.john-oliver.net/ * |

I have not seen that list ANYWHERE else although I may have simply failed to look in the right place. If you have a system with the full install, you can use pkgchk to find out which packages are required for each feature. |

Hm, my approach is to use PCA and install all the patches that there are. That's IMO the fastest approach. Michael |

A fine principle, but since SUn started shipiing Secure By Default (all network services disabled except for ssh), I think it has become less necessary. -- Rich Teer, SCSA, SCNA, SCSECA CEO, My Online Home Inventory URLs: http://www.rite-group.com/rich http://www.linkedin.com/in/richteer http://www.myonlinehomeinventory.com |
