Default How to determine the display order of the hierarchies for dimensions

There may be a simple answer to this but I have not been able to find
it. In the interface - how can we create an order to the hierarchies
we can select for a dimension that has multiple hierarchies? I know
there are Hierachy IDs for manually created hierarchies. Do we have
control over them (i.e. which gets listed first)? Or is there a way to
make a default hierarchy so when a user drags a dimension to the grid
the "specified" hierarchy gets displayed first. Also if there are a
combination of visible attributes and manually created hierarchies -
how can we control the order in which they appear.
