Default upgrading xorg?

Hi,

Running 6.2/i386, I need to upgrade xorg 6.9 to 7 because "portupgrade
firefox" apparently depends on that. According to /usr/ports/UPDATING I
should run "xorg-upgrade" but I can't find that anywhere. Any help is
appreciated.

Thanks,

Huub

It isn't name of script. It is name of file, which contains output of what
you will do to upgrade xorg. Do what is written in UPDATING (mostly
portupgrade -a followed by mergebase.sh)

Look again at what that says. "script xorg-upgrade" causes shell output
to be recorded to a file called xorg-upgrade.

Thank you for your answer. I decided to do "export XORG_UPGRADE=yes" and
use portupgrade -R xorg. This seemed to go ok, but ends with this:

Also, the upgrade was searching for /ports/databases/mysql-administrator
as couple of times, which isn't there.
Any idea what the above problem is?

Thanks

Did you update your ports? Now in ports there is xorg-7.2.0.

This is from the output of "portupgrade -R xorg" (from 6.9 to 7.2). I
started with firefox, but that ended saying it needed xorg 7.2. So I
started that, with this result.

I don't think that moved helped you out. I wonder how you'll recover
from this state? Are you going to do the other important stuff the
script would have done for you by hand? (please consider keeping a
journal of how you do recover from it, I'm certain you're not the only
one who did this)

As far as I understand script(1) only records the output written to tty.
So it doesn't actually do something for me, other than keeping track. An
actual script, performing the upgrade of xorg and its dependancies would
be welcome of course. But portupgrade -R or portupgrade -a should take
care of a nice and tidy upgrade after cvsup.

There is more to the upgrade than just using script to record the
output.

There are only two portupgrade steps, so it doesn't really need a shell
script. For afterwards, there's also mergebase.sh, which is a shell
script.

Your optimism is refreshing, but that is not the case according to what
it says in /usr/ports/UPDATING about the xorg upgrade.
