User Creation Issue in HP Unix

This is a discussion on User Creation Issue in HP Unix within the Unix and OS Discussions forums in Database and Unix Discussions category; Hi Guys, I am new to HP Unix. on one of the unix server i dropped user and group by useing userdel and groupdel. Now when i create new user or group i get following error: # useradd abc rm: /etc/group.tmp24293 not removed. Permission denied # # groupadd oinstall rm: /etc/group.tmp24465 not removed. Permission denied user and group gets created successfully but user home folder is not created. Can anyone help me out what is the issue. Regards, Nasir...

Default User Creation Issue in HP Unix

Hi Guys,

I am new to HP Unix. on one of the unix server i dropped user and group by useing userdel and groupdel. Now when i create new user or group i get following error:

# useradd abc
rm: /etc/group.tmp24293 not removed. Permission denied
#

# groupadd oinstall
rm: /etc/group.tmp24465 not removed. Permission denied

user and group gets created successfully but user home folder is not created.

Can anyone help me out what is the issue.
